Is 200 Alarm System

Last night my 52 Plate IS200 was broken into, I locked the car and the alarm was set. When I went to the car this morning the boot was open, driver and passenagers door a jar, glove box open, ash tray open and both the console holes open. There is no sign of forced entry.

Does any one know of a way of open the car with out the alarm going off and opening the doors. I have tested the alarm this evening ( and it's loud) and that works fine.

Is there a loop hole in the alarm system!!

I think if there was people would not want to say so on here. There are devices that clone your key button but I am pretty sure the Lexus generates a new one all the time.

Have you had the car long, did you get all the keys, would you trust who you bought it from, has it been to any dodgy dealers recently ? Just some thoughts ......

are you 100% sure you locked it

only saying that , because if you leave a door ajar , and press the key button , nothing happens, no warning , and no alarm

will effectively be sat there unlocked with no alarm

has anything been taken ?

or any damage done ?

No nothing was taken, I had 20 cd's in the glove box, and hands free kit on the centre console. There is no damage at all. Police think it may be a steal to order that went wrong.

That's really scary, glad there was no real harm done.

Yeah I've always wondered why it does that. I've seen on our Audi that if a door is not closed properly, it still locks the car, but doesn't set the alarm until the door is closed. Makes more sense, just in case you're in a rush and don't check whether the indicators flash.

like bazz said, one of your doors must of been open a bit to start with and if so the doors will not lock!! but you would not know this if you did not stand there to see if the alarm went on or not, so there for you walked away thinking you had locked the car up ;) i did this last week but i new the alarm was not set as it did not flash 5 times like it should, good job i all ways wait and see if its set :whistling:

"Police think it may be a steal to order that went wrong"

Mate if it was steal to order you would not have a car NOW!!, what could have went wrong, car was open with no "ALARM" ;)
