512Mb (upgraded)

40Gb HD (upgraded)

CD Writer (upgrade)

DVD Reader

19" Monitor

Had it for years. Was originally hotest thing you could get and cost me £2k. Upgrade it as needed. Creaks a bit but just about copes with development work when I work at home.

my last computer only had 512 so having 2 gig has made a nice difference

but im not too sure if its much more than 1 gig

the fact that its 3200 ddr ram working in dual channel mode speeds things up alot too and hd disc access is all but a minimum, I just need a much better gfx card now :)

I didnt enjoy Doom 3 that much, but Half life 2 is simply awesome :)

apple PowerBook G4 1.25GHz

Mac OS X

1GB RAM

80GB hard drive

CD rewriter / DVD writer

Really nice widescreen (1280x854) display

My first Mac, which I've had for over a year now.

* Very stable

* Never had to reinstall the OS

* Doesn't get viruses

* Doesn't get spyware

* Doesn't get exploited by new browser vulnerabilities every week :-)

* I use it as my main computer at work as well

I used to turn up my nose at Macs - but having used one I wouldn't buy a Windows PC again!

I used to turn up my nose at Macs - but having used one I wouldn't buy a Windows PC again!

Oh No! Another lost to the dark side! :P

I don't want to start the Macs Vs PCs debate but I use both Macs and PCs and I just cannot get used to the Mac. I hate the fact that their is no right click (have to press the ctl key to get the right click menu), Macs just seem to be abit unresponsive and slow at times. However they do have some positives such as looking cool and their wireless Airport system works very well.

Each to their own.

My Main PC:

AMD AthlonXP 2800+,

Asus A7N8X Deluve,

1Gb Crucial DDR400 Ram,

128Mb ATI Radeon 9700 Pro Graphics Card,

6.1 Sound,

18" LG Flateron TFT Monitor,

16X Pioneer Slot Loading DVD,

52x32x52 Liteon CDRW,

MSI Bluetooth,

Floppy (wow!),

120Gb HDD X 2 running in RAID 0 = Total of 240Gb HDD space,

Videologic 5.1 Speakers.

Built it two years ago and it is still going strong.

My Daily Laptop:

apple iBook G4 1Ghz (sussh don't tell anyone ;)),

12" Screen

Mac OS X 10.36

256Mb RAM

30GB hard drive

CD rewriter

ATI Radeon Graphics

Airport Wireless Card.

Printers:

Tally 9212 Laser (now bust!)

Epson 980N Inkjet (very old but cheap ink!)

I also have a Dell C640 P4 2.0Ghz/512Mb Ram/20Gb HDD laptop that I intend to use as the basis for my carputer when I get chance.

Internet:

750K Broadband via NTL.

Shared via a Buffalo Wireless Router to other PCs/Macs.

Thanks

Hehe, gave up years ago on keeping up with PC specs, just have a nice shiny PowerMac with a tasty 22" apple Cinema Display :)

I like it, got bored of running PC's at home so went for a change, it's great :)

Anees, if you don't like the missing right mouse button just plug in a two button mouse - works wonders!

Aido, I have tried that mate - the thing is I usually use the Laptop in the car (obviously while parked)/on the move so using a mouse is not ideal.

I also like how on a PC Laptop I can double tap the Touch Pad to double click - which I cannot do on a Mac. I'm just too lazy to CTL + click!

Glad your happy with your Mac.

Sure you can. You need a thing called SideTrack, which has been free for the last year while it was in beta, but is now $15. I have mine set up so that I can click, double click, click & drag, and the right and bottom edges act like scroll wheels.

You can do other things too, that I've not bothered with, like for instance assigning a prod in a particular corner as meaning a right click.

Sidetrack is available here.
