Warning Light

Hi guys,

Just driving back to work after lunch, and the handbrake warning light came on on the dash, you know the one i mean, the light that comes on when you put the handbake on.

Had a quick look at the brakes, the fronts are fine, the rears look like the pads could do with changing, but i am not sure.

Can anyone help?

Bet it'll be more money needing to be spent on the car!!!!!

Fluid level? Think that's the same light, but not certain without checking the manual.

I've just checked the brake lights and brake fluid level, and they're all ok, so what else can it be?

Bulb. Clean the contacts or replace the bulb even if they seem ok.

I took teh bulb out, checked the connections, put it back in, no warning light, brake lights worked fine. took foot off brake pedal, warning light came on again, brake lights still working.

Me have no clue.

Will investigate at the weekend, as it's dark when i get home and i don't have a light in the garage!

get a new bulb, this will sort it. trust me

sorry forgot you had one of these stu, it may be something to do with that, but I'd deffinately try a new bulb first

All bulbs are working in all 4 brake lights!

The warning light hasn't come on this morning yet, but i'll keep my eye on it on the journey home!

I'v only just replaced that bulb too!

Check your handbrake stick... maybe it's not fully released.

That can cause the warning light. ;)

the 2 normal outer ones and the high level on the rear shelf - do u have a spoiler with a light fitted?
