I have a problem with my map reading light. The switch doesnt seem to work. If I press the switch in and out really fast the bulb flickers and comes on for about half a second, so I know the bulb is OK. I cant seem to find how the unit comes out so I can check it over. Anyone have any ideas??

Have you checked the bulb is seated ok? Sounds like it might be loose... will also be easier to cehck that before pulling anything else apart

Thats my problem, I dont know how to remove any of the cover to gain access to the bulb or anything inside

How about sliding the edge of a credit card into the gap at the side of the lamp?

Fancy that, I was just about to post almost exactly the same question!

I thought my bulb had gone until I tried to remove the cover and it flickered a couple of times. I've tried just pulling the cover off with flat bladed screwdriver but to no avail.

Any help will definately be appreciated! I'm in this one with ya Pete! :winky:

Someone must know an answer to this one! All we want to know is how to remove the map rading light/sunroof switch console!

I only had chance to take a quick look the other day. It looks to me like the whole switch/light panel comes off, I imagine its just clipped either at the ends or the sides. Try giving it a squeeze and see if it will pop out, I am going to try the same. I want to replace the bulbs with LEDs

maaann just get stuck in with a flat screwdriver probing around,, tis what i did an what ya know i found out how the part comes off.. your find that it is the surround that pops of..

As the man above says,get you screwdriver in there.

They are similar to take apart as the door handle surround.
