Hard Or Soft Rev-limiter?

I would say it's hard then. Not something you want to keep hitting.

The rev limiter works by cutting fuel at a certain rpm and then enables fuel again at a slightly lower rpm.

yeah, thats a hard one.

sorry for not being clear, what i class as hard is one where the car dramatically slows down when you hit it.

on my mondeo it's a harsh one, you lose about a 1000 revs instantly :blink:

i guess i'll still hit it sometime soon, just so i know what to expect! :driving:

It's easily done. The engine just keeps pulling and doesn't sound stressed at all. All of a sudden, you're losing speed!!

Definately hard. I hit it for the first time a couple of days ago :tsktsk: , but at least now i know what the limits are. kinda gave me a shock, usually you can actually go into a redline :duh:
