Slight Dent In Front Wheel Arch

Recommended Posts

My colleague who has an IS200 as well had his front drivers side wheel arch dented by another motor. Took it to a Lexus dealer to have fixed and they want to replace the wheel arch but also respray the bonnet and the door and surrounds to ensure the colour all matches in. And they want to charge £1500 for the work. But a non Lexus Dealer who uses Lexus parts says that they don't need to do all that but can rectify the dent on the wheel arch and promises it will look as original. I haven't got pictures to show but the dent is literally a small 'dink' into the edge of arch at the top of the wheel.

Any advice or opinions, would you prefer to pay the extra and get the dealer to do it for peace of mind or do they generally go over the top to claw in the notes?

take to a decent "paintless dent removal" company and see what they can do - u never know. the lexus dealer will prob use one time to time.

that sounds like an outrageous price to me mate. has he tried chips away or a similar business. depends on the damage though and how bad it is but MCR up here in manchester would fix that for roughly £100.

Depends on colour. If its metallic, especially if silver then a cheap repair will notice more. If you look very closely at my roof you can see where a back street place sprayed just part of it for £125 instead of the £725 to do the whole roof I was quoted by Lexus. Add the £974 damage they caused to the suspension when they took it for a spin it wasn't such a good deal plus the stone chip is rusting again from under the paint. It's sometimes worth paying a bit more for a decent job.
