Help - Broken Antenna Housing!

Recommended Posts

Hope somebody can help me. Fitted a bee-sting aerial to my IS200 and promptly forgot, remembering only when halfway through the local carwash - ouch!!! The aerial is now bent and beyond repair but worst of all the plastic housing has been shattered. The aerial being held inplace by a single black wire and a rake of insulation tape. Kind of spoils the look of the car somewhat!!!

Just had the old ERR3 message on the radio but thanks to this forum I contacted Lexus Manchester and they couldn't have been more helpful in ordering a new head unit. At the same time I enquired about the cost of a new antenna housing - £130 and that for the parts only!!!!

What options do I have? How do I get the current housing off and would one of those fin type antennas work?

If anybody can help I would appreciate it.

to remove the housing you need to drop the headliner from the rear, firstly removing the C-pillar covers.

the housing is held in place by a 10mm nut.

i have just sold a mount, let me see if i have another knocking around.

i do have the antenna mast itself if you want that
