Use IK20 for standard engine and IK22 for SC.

Don't really see the point in paying extra for HKS or TRD ones as they don't make the plugs, they are just re-badged Denso IK plugs.

what would happen if you used IK22 with a standard engine Colin?

They may foul up causing poor idling. Also the standard gap on the IK22 would be too small. It may even be a little small for the SC engine.

Colin or any other expert,

I have a doubt regarding the specific needs for plugs. In one of DENSO sites they recommend for LEXUS IS200 the IK16, but the manual recomends either DENSO - SK20R11 or NGK - IFR6A11.

The recommended Denso, by the manual, has a temp. of 20 as in their heat range chart.

If this is all true, and LEXUS recommends heat range of 20, then I should be putting in the IK22, since my car is supercharged now and I´m in the need of a colder plug !

Now I have another problem! The IK22 has a smaller gap, than the IK16 and IK20, a difference of .04mm.

Now, after all this, and knowing the recommended DENSO plug and gap difference, which should be the plug that I should use for my Supercharged LEXUS IS 200....the IK20, which is equivalent to the standard recommended or the IK22, which is cooler, but has a smaller gap ???

IS300 uses IK16. IS200 uses IK20

Yes the stock plugs are Denso SK20R11 or NGK - IFR6A11. The IK series are a performance plug - better performance but should be changed at 30,000 miles not 60,000/100,000 as with the stock ones.

If I were you I would use IK22 either with the standard 0.8mm gap or increase the gap to 1.0mm before installing them.
