Am I correct in saying the the alternator output is 100A on the IS? Only specs I have managed to find are on the Australian Lexus site, which states 1200W... which is roughly 100A @ 12V or 87A at 13.8V... anyone know?

Easy way to find out is use a AC Clamp meter. Measures current flow.

I'll try do it, since my install is going to draw excess of 250A :o

Wow, 250A !! Thats a HUGE amount of current.... thanks for offering to measure the output, I'd appreciate knowing.

Sounds like you might need to upgrade your alernator Mr Singh... or perhaps a small nuclear reactor might be more appropriate?? At least its not 1.21gigawatts! But then you're not trying to get Back to the Future ;)

lol.

I'll try measure it soon, Clamp meter is with a SPL competitor at the mo.

Shouldn't differ from altezza to IS... i hope!

You won't get any sensible readings with a standard AC clampmeter - these only measure AC current (usually 40Hz ish upwards).

I assume yours has hall sensors / specifically states that it does DC?

Have pretty decent one.. Has been within 10% accurate in the past :)
