I have heard of 2 people in the last 2 days (and I know next to zero about Ebay) who have fallen victim to fraudsters on eBay.

People that have unsuccessfully made a bid are contacted offering a "second chance" at an agreed price.

As far as I know, the money gets transfered and the perpetrators are not seen for dust

Beats working for a living, but not very nice for the decent humans among us

actually eBay can help,, as it is through ther auction process that people are offered this second chance thing..

i saw it the other week when i had sold soem items,, it gave me the option of offering the items to the next hightest bidder..

of course this doesmt stop someone from carrying out the transaction outside of eBay,, and if they do then unfortuantly you take your chances..

also if they payed via paypal then paypal can help

A good thing to remember with eBay, is DO NOT send money via wester union, or moneygram - or any of those money transfer agencies.

Just try and use PayPal at ALL times !

2nd chance is how i got my Nokia 6310i phone a few months back, and cos the seller do the transaction using paypal through eBay, so it maybe safer that way, as i got the phone the next day.... :) :) :) just have to be careful i guess...
