Amps in boot

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I'm in the middle of sorting out some I.C.E. for the car (IS200) and was wondering how hard it is to run a power cable from the engine bay out to the boot to power some extra amps. Is there an easy route or will it be a case of drilling holes etc?

When I installed my system i could not find any holes to run the power cable. Instead I removed the Battery and drilled a hole on the panel behind the Battery. Just make sure you remember to seal off the metal where you drilled it cos' it will prevent rusting. Don't forget to use a grommet to for your power cable so as you don't cut it on the new hole that you have just drilled.

instead of drilling holes why dont you just push it thru the cable grommet thats already in the top left hand corner behind the Battery??!!! it will then come out behind the dash in area thats easy for you to get to - piece of wee wee to get it under the carpet and on the left hand side of the rear bench there is a hole thru to the boot - u dont need to remove the bench either to do this - stick ur finger down the side and pull it away a bit and you will see the hole!.
