Went to buy rear discs and pads for '99 IS200 from an aftermarket trade parts dealer

He supplied me with vented discs for the rear

When I queried he stated that they only supply vented rear discs for my model - he showed me the book confirming this

I have spoken with another parts dealer, who states the same

The discs are the same size, thickness as the solid discs

Is this right - will it make any difference?

Checked with Lucas too - they only supply vented rear discs across the IS range - very odd

I got aftermarket (patten) part discs for the rear of my IS and they were solid.

The vented discs are completely identical, but about 1mm thicker, but my ones are kinda worn anyway.

Will it make any difference??

All the rear discs i have seen for them have been solid too!!??

SPOOKY

!!

I've struggled to get any rear discs..........let alone vented ones :duh:

Due to lack of technological knowhow a pic might be difficult

I am unsure as to fitting them in case I need to take them back

I have been told that vented would be better - I shall let you all know, if I don't die going round the first bend........

want some Brembo`s?? :winky: :whistling:

ARE THEY REAL bREMBOS, THERE ARE ALOT OF "fAKE" BREMBOS AROUND AT THE MOMENT......

They should be dull machined steel, not the coated stuff, also the box is a dead give a way...........

not that im saying your selling "fakes" scott  .just that 99% of the ones ive seen are fake.

not that it really matters there all made from the same blanks anyway, just a different manufacturing process

Drilled/grooved is a bonus because.........................

drilling a brake disc does nothing other than weaken the discs structure..........fact

COST??

pm`d

Share it with the rest of us then. :winky:

£200 per pair.. regardless of front or rears.. ( All drilled/Grooved )
