remember seeing that one was in the process of being done. Is it nearly finished? as I need some new tyres very soon and could use it

I would too: GS430 with 235/45ZR17 Bridgestone Potenzas that will need replacing soon for something a bit less noisy, more comfortable and with less tramlining! Looking at Mytyres and tyretest it all gets a bit confusing for someone who is after comfort and safety rather than speed and boy-racer!

D P have a look at the Yokohama AVS db V550. They should be what you are after although they can be expensive and not available everywhere.

However anything would be better than the rubbish RE030 that are fitted as standard.

Thanks for reminding me Jim.

I shall create the topic later.

Its not so much an "official review" as one thread in which everyone reviews the tyres they have used, how good they were, where they bought them, how much they paid, how long they lasted etc.

We'll keep this under pretty strict mod control, so it only has useful reviews in it, then instead of having 10 tyre threads a month, people can use this thread to help them decide which tyres suit them best, and where they can get them.

Anything happening on this - bought two Michelin Pilot Primacies for the front (GS430) replacing Potenza RE030s - tramlining gone, good ride and traction - just a bit of whine on some surfaces; that's the problem of having such a quiet car! Now need to replace the back. Bridgestone Turanza LS-Zs get rave reviews in the States but can you get them in the UK? If you can, thought I would put these on the front and move the Pilots to the back.

Anyone any other thoughts, other than it would be very useful to get all the threads in one place.

No those Brigestones aren't available in the UK. You could try the Yokohama AVS dB V550, they are good but just a little expensive.

I've had the Yokohama dB V550 on my IS200, the only gripe I had with thm are tramlining. The shoulder is very square where many other tyres are rounded.

As it is the acessory/aftermarket tyre listed on www.lexus.nl, I saw some other ISes with these fitted at a Lexus driving event, and these guys had the same complaint.

It is a quiet and long-lasting tyre though - I just couldn't live with the nervous ride. The Yokohama C-Drive is new and less square on the edges though, I've seen it in real life and its tread looks a lot like my Conti Sportcontact-2's. Don't know how they drive though.
