Yesterday, I was woke up by the alarm going off on my car and my headlight were blinking one-off and ndlessly. I checked out everything and nothing was near to trigger it.

I shut it off the alarm and the headlight were still blinking with a clicking sound coming from the dashboard. A few start and stop of the system and everything was normal. 🤔

A few hour later , my headlight started again to blink. I went to the car and I found the 12v Battery dead.

I jump-started it, recharged the Battery and now when I shut off the car. There s still some light staying on in the car. ( Autodimming of the central mirror, the light of the auto-whipper, the control for the windows and the mirror control). The steering wheel don't move automatically to position and I can hear a clicking sound from behind the dashboard gain.

When I get out of the car in that state ( off but still some light on), I got the message "key not detected" as if I didn't shut if off and if  the light are on or in auto they start again to blink endlessly. Probably the reason why my 12v was dead earlier.

I have to disconnect the 12v Battery when I don't use it and reconnect it every time I need to drive it.

I checked the 12v Battery by the car system and it says 14.4 so it s not dead...

Any clue of what is wrong?

Sorry for my grammar and possibly writing error I m not English native speaker.

It is most likely the 12v Battery.  Since you jump started it the voltage went back up to 14v as you describe. The First point to start is replace the 12v Battery. The clicking is the electrics trying to power up the computers & headlights since there isn't enough voltage it starts flashing & clicking this happens on most cars when Battery is dying or flat.

If I had to guess turn off the auto headlights to avoid the lights coming on. & *ensure your turning off the ignition/power when you leave the car & lock it. The headlights will only come on once the ignition is on.

Also check your negative ( - ) ground cable in the boot is securely attached to the chassis incase it's a bad connection. Experienced a click start condition many years ago & it's turned out to be the actual cables that enter the metal crimps loose, resulting in an intermitent start up condition.

I checked all the connection to the Battery. They are all correctly in place. The ground too.

I tried to shut off the headlight lock the car but the cal sill have power running as some light indicator still work and it says key not detected. So I can't simply lock it and go away or the Battery is draining and the car not locking.

So yeah maybe that the Battery that need to be replace.

It still bugs me about all the strange behaviour of the column steering ect....

If the Battery is from 2014 it's well past it's best and should be changed as soon as possible. With all the electronics cars these days batteries just don't last as long anymore. Personally I change my after 5/6 years
