Viewing 2012 RX 450h Premier, 1 owner, 70k, FDSH next week. Apart from stay clear - are there any specific observations regarding air suspension to look for plus any other general pointers for this model ?. Understand there is a certain amount of reluctance for this model due to the cost of repair but is anyone aware of any extended warranties on the market that would entertain covering air suspension?. Thanks

I believe there is an extended warranty option with Lexus for cars up to 15-years old, plus if the service history is up to date with the Hybrid Health Check the hybrid Battery will be covered up to 15-years.

For the Battery to be covered you just need to get a hybrid health check with lexus annually. This covers the Battery for the next 12 months up to 15 years, unlimited miles.  The health check itself costs close to £60 on its own but is included in the price if you get a service at lexus. But you dont need an official lexus service for the Battery warranty...just the hybrid health check.

Regarding the 10+ years warranty possibility, I drew a complete blank with Lexus dealers earlier this year, and indeed with a company that had previously offered such warranties. I was LED to believe they are not done any more. Be great to hear if anyone can contradict my experience and managed to obtain a 10 years plus warranty in the past 6 months

I think fellow member @wharfhouse has one. Perhaps he can provide details of how to get one.

I can confirm that this elusive warranty still exists. Mine was renewed at Hedge, Southampton back in August. It was £550 and included Lexus breakdown for both our RX450 and Smart Car. The documentation seemed a little vague on this point so I did check with the dedicated help line!

We had a SC430 a few years ago with the same warranty & they paid up without complaint when the headlights needed replacement. They never shared the bill but I hate to think how much it would have cost.

The Lexus 10 Year Plus Extended Warranty still exists (as @John-F confirms). I had it for a few years on IS 300h (once it went over 100k miles) and just a few weeks ago Lexus Reading contacted me to ask if I wanted to renew for another year. Unfortunately my car has now done 154K miles and so I am not able to purchase this any longer (but can maintain the hybrid Battery warranty until the car is 15 years old with unlimited mileage so long as I get the Hybrid Health Check done on schedule).

If you are interested in the Lexus 10 Year Plus Extended Warranty make sure you ask for it using that exact name (don't just say extended warranty as that confuses them). Some dealers seem to be not aware of the Lexus 10 Year Plus Extended Warranty, but I have never had any issue taking this out with Lexus Reading (Jemca group). As you are in Hampshire Lexus Reading or Lexus Hedge End (where @John-F has his) should be able to sort this for you.

Yes, Hedge End are geared up for this, have renewed for second year with them ask for service, then 10 minutes or so  & documentation follows in the post within a few days. Agree its a bit flaky re the AA membership details

Payments are 10 Monthly Direct Debits ( 10 X £54.80 interest free ) bit confusing as they start about 6 weeks after signing up and finish before renewal & as you don't get a renewal need to diarise to ensure cover continues.

Hope this helps.

Same hear my three local Lexus dealers (Derby, Nottingham and Leicester) had no clue or failed to return calls. I went with Reading (JEMCA) and as others

have said were/are very good

If you don't get anywhere with who you are talking to then the person at Lexus Reading who has done mine (and sent me a reminder a few weeks ago that the current one was coming to an end and aaking if I wanted to renew) is Alex Du Puget. He's on the service desk.
