Is250c audio options

Hi all

I’m looking for a is250c and I’m trying to find out what the audio options are.

Does the 250se L have a Mark Levinson system fitted as standard? Or was it a factory option? and is there any way of knowing whether a ML unit is fitted? More speakers etc, I can’t see any Mark Levinson logo’s on any of the pictures of cars for sale.

I’m guessing the 250se l will have the standard audio unit fitted

It is possible to get a Mark Levinson unit on a IS250C however theyre quite a bit rarer as you had to spec it out specifically to get it unlike pre facelift vehicles, you just have to spot the mark Levinson audio on the bottom of the radio / navigation unit to confirm it has it. The standard IS speakers are by no means bad so if you find a lovely convertible without it dont worry too much

do you know if a Mark Levinson unit has a different speaker configuration to a standard model? Ie more speakers ? a hidden sub woofer etc? Or are they just upgraded

Slightly more speakers and different wiring loom so they’re not interchangeable Atleast not very easily as far as I know.

The Mark Levinson system was an option on the Convertible SEL. As has been said it is quite rare.

I beleive that the speakers are upgraded but the convertible, due to space restrictions, does not have a subwoofer as fitted to the IS250 saloon.

I have the standard system in my car and find it perfectly acceptable despite having come from a Mark Levinson equipped saloon.

I did wonder the 250c being a coupe that the speaker lay out would be different than the saloon and so it is!

Having a Mark Levinson system was never a “must have” in my  search for a 250c but knowing now the standard audio fittted is more than adequate hopefully will quicken my search for my dream 250c!
