My previous car would show the current speed in the map screen of the infotainment screen as well as on the main dash, which we found beneficial.

Is it possible to get th 14" screen in my NX 350H to do the same ? I had a search this morning but found nothing, but I'm still very much in a learning phase.

Do you mean at the bottom of the navigation map..?

I think that a speed reading appears if you use Waze or MagicEarth as you navigation map in Android Auto .... probably in AirPlay as well

A second for Waze over Airplay.

Top left corner, GPS speed is indicated in a red circle. It looks like a speed limit sign.
Should you stray over the limit it beeps and goes completely red until you slow back down.
Very handy.

I also noticed that the car's speedo is consistently +4MPH compared to GPS speed

I think that is a design feature to 'help' drivers stay below the limit

Thanks guys. I'll have to learn to live without it then as I don't play thing from my phone in the car.

A vehicle's speedometer is not allowed to under-read and, as with any measuring instrument, there is a tolerance (within the instrument itself and to allow for variables such as tyre pressures). That means speedometers will inevitably over-read by a small amount. There is also an upper limit but that will rarely come into play.

Why not give it a try...? You'll get an interchangeable selection of navigation programmes (with your speedo in the corner) all your phone contacts (voice activated calling) and music from your phone (if you wanted)

Thanks Jim, might give it a try purely for the navigation once I've got my head around other features of the system.

I already have my phone contacts installed which I can access via voice command and I don't have any music on my phone.

You could call me a dinosaur if you like  😁

There is a lot to learn about.....I find myself going back to the manuals again and again.....if you haven't already, consider putting both manuals on your phone,  or better still (for  my poor eyesight) a tablet....then you can sit in the car and poke at buttons all day long....

Just make sure you put the car into READY mode !! Or you'll kill the 12v Battery ...

Thanks for that, but I'm used to it as my last car was a hybrid. It was the same with an AGM Battery in a standard Kodiaq. Battery used to get depleted quite quickly when engine wasn't running and give an on screen warning, but I think it was so the Battery didn't lose all charge because of the stop/start system.
