Hi. The driver's mirror on my RHD LS460 folds in and out okay, but when folding in, it gets to the stop position but keeps trying to go further, so it continuously clicks. Is this repairable, or will the mirror have to be replaced?  Has anybody fixed this problem? If so, how?  Cheers.

Complete motor units and the gears are available as replacements but the problem is that the wiring loom passes through the motor housing which would mean unpinning the plugs to pull the loom through then re pin into the connector.

There is also a lot of dismantling required.
A good used replacement is probably your best option.

It might be that the limit switch in the motor doesn't think that it has reached the stop position. I had the same problem when a pedestrian fell off a pavement when I was at the lights. He hit the mirror and 'adjusted' its position. With the engine running, I altered the mirror position till the motor stopped clicking at the right point.  If that doesn't work then, as Steve says, a second hand mirror assembly is your best bet.

Thank you Brian.

I have tried moving it and adjusting etc, with no luck. I think it's to do with the limit switch. It will eventually stop doing it, but it's disconcerting having all that clicking going on!  It seems to stop after 30 seconds, so must be on a time switch somehow. So,  I think a replacement is the only answer, or not have it set to fold.
