Does the glovebox need to be removed or dropped down in order to see/access it...?

 No it doesn't ! This has been driving me nuts, so I rang the service department of a dealer nearer to me and explained my exasperation.

They were very understanding and told me where it actually is. It isn't behind the glove box, but rather underneath it and further back. There is a plastic panel which must be removed to reveal the box.

If you imagine sitting in the passenger seat with your legs outstretched under the dash with your toes pointing up, the panel to be removed is above your toes.

I'm somewhat surprised that access to it isn't easier !!

I'm assuming that the location has been changed in the latest models.

Now that you’ve found the fuse box, Paul, I presume you’ll be looking for a permanently live feed for the dashcam.

I have a BlackVue which is wired in by what they call a Power Magic Pro.  Once the ignition is off, it supplies current to the dashcam in Parking mode.  It monitors the consumption and disconnects the camera if the Battery voltage drops below a preset  level.  I don’t know if Nextbase offers something similar - or indeed why the BlackVue product wouldn’t work just as well with a Nextbase camera.

Thanks for that Len, but I knew that I'd be proven to be stupid or there would be logical reason I couldn't find the fusebox, so I have clone of the Nextbase hardwire kit winging its way to me as we speak.

Happy that you're finding solutions that suit you Paul but please be careful if you do the wiring yourself. If you hide the wiring as you presumably would like to do, then you need to be aware of the airbags and consider their operation in an emergency to ensure that they work as advertised and are not impeded by the dashcam wiring.

Glad you got it sorted Paul, I was about to brave the cold and take that pic but thought I'd check here first. I dropped my glove box and found it that way, I guess it wasn't needed.

On the first page I included a picture of the fuse box cover. I was hoping this would help you locate it.

I had to go and take another look and try and redeem myself, somewhat, by posting a pic of the fuse slot Lexus use. It is under the trim which is just after the glovebox as Paul states (squeeze the 4 tabs and drop down), sorry for the wild goose chase.

The slot they use is labelled 2nd Batt.

No need to question yourself, Paul.  In my short experience of Lexus, I feel that they delight in placing some components in odd locations.  Or in making them a little harder to replace.

For example, when I went looking for my Tyre Pressure Monitoring System reset button, I ended up on my back in the driver’s footwell with a torch in one hand and the Manual in the other!

I think it may be to do with the Japanese sense of humour.

Can't see Why not Its still getting the Feed from The OBD and still Protected by a Line Fuse...!!!
