Loss of key and continued operation of the vehicle

Thank you for your communication as well as for your preference for Lexus cars.

We apologize for the delay in our response.

Regarding the content of your message, the event you describe does not concern any malfunction of your car, nor any manufacturing problem of the car as it is a completely normal operation of the smart key.

Specifically, when the driver has the key on him and is in the detection area, he can activate the car, where it will remain activated until he deactivates it, even in the event that the key is removed from the car.

This has been designed by the manufacturer for safety reasons as if someone removes the key from the car while it is moving (e.g. falls out of the window, is thrown out by mistake, etc.), the car should not be immobilized to avoid an accident.

With the same reasoning for safety reasons, the car must operate even if the smart key system malfunctions (key Battery, board failure, etc.) after the initial activation of the vehicle.

I say fine. Within all electronic systems, couldn't there be a notification "that the key is not detected?"
