Valved Exhaust Fabricators

Hi guys, I'm on the hunt for a place to get a custom valved exhaust fabricated for my LS430 and was wondering if anyone has had anything made for their cars they'd recommend. TIA

Tony Banks always gets mentioned here - give them a call:

Are you going for the whisper quiet LS430 sound with bypass closed, and the deep throaty rumble of a V8 when open?
The legal limit for the LS430 is 74dB(A) when on the public road. More than that and you are asking for 7-day wonder.

Also be aware that you will need to declare it to your insurance company who will probably double your premium because of it.
If you don't declare it they will use it as an excuse to not pay out if you are involved in a claim and they inspect the vehicle.

I love the sound of a nice V8 rumble, but too many take it to extremes these days and nobody wants a neighbour with a LOUD car (or motorcycle).

Doubt he'd have any problems, provided he isn't doing donuts in the local retail park with the cruise-knobs (in which case volume of exhaust won't be the deciding factor 😄 )

For MOTs, it's subjective. No MOT centre is equipped to assess a car against the SPL on its V5. Doubt the Police are either.

So it all falls back to the subjective. Have a straight-through system and drive like a *****, you'll have a problem. Have a valved exhaust for some V8 fruitiness and you'll be fine.

OP, I'd suggest any exhaust fabricator will be able to install electric cut-outs. There will be one in your area.

Cheers guys, interestingly Tony Banks is the most reasonable quote I've had so far.

Yes I'm aware of the laws, hence going for a valved product so it's only noisy occasionally. I've never had issues with MOTs previously and insurance isn't an issue.

I'm after a full exhaust from the downpipes back as mine has rotted along practically the whole length of the car, hence my options are limited. Once I go for one I'll hopefully get a video incase others are invited.
