Thinking of ordering - spec confusion

Recommended Posts

Have asked the dealer but his answer didn't sound confident and assured.

Thinking of an NX 450H+ F-Sport but would like a panoramic sunroof so would like the F-Sport Takumi.  Wanted to clarify if it comes with panoramic sunroof for the current model (not sure what model year we are in). Dealer says its a normal sunroof and not the panoramic one. Then I asked about Mark Levinson and he thinks it may now come with this - if it had this as well the price difference between the Takumi and non-Takumi would be more palatable.

Pulled the spec from the brochure which seems old and says no panoramic or ML. Downloaded latest spec from media.lexus.co.uk at https://media.lexus.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/sites/3/pdf/240809-NX-Equip-List.pdf

This seems to indicate (not quite definitive depending how you interpret the table) both ML and panoramic sunroof.

Tried emailing the customer relations at Lexus HQ but get a bog standard reply to speak to my dealer.

Anyone know if the F-Sport Takumi does have the panoramic sunroof and the ML sound system?

The panoramic roof is included as an option on 25MY NX450h's. Prior to this it was only a sunroof that was available. (Pano roof was an option on NX350h's) Not sure about the ML sound system though as I understood it was exclusive to the Takumi.

Hi Alex,

We traded in our Gen 4 RX Takumi earlier this year for a new NX 350h Premium Plus with Panoramic Roof.  It's the full opening panoramic roof and visor, which is lovely.  Glad we took the advice from the dealership about the spec - having had Takumi before, I was sceptical, but like you, I wanted the full pan roof, not a sunroof.  There are only a few features I had to compromise on such as a standard rear view mirror, lack of auto park function and standard audio instead of Mark Levinson.  But we are absolutely delighted with the NX - terrific car.  Hope that helps.

Hi I ordered a NX 450H+ F-Sport Takumi in June this year I believe it is a 2025 model.  It came with, as I did not pay extra for it, a Full Panoramic  roof and blind system.  I was also the under the impression that the F-sport models prevent the fitting, for some 'technical' reason, of the ML sound system.  Mine was delivered with the standard system.

Agree with everything Goodplan53 has said. The Takumi spec has some features that we didn't want either and the PP+ with Pano roof is the optimum value point.

And this is EXACTLY the boat that I am in too. I want both the ML and the panoramic roof and have been waiting since the gen2 model release for one with both on the 450h+.

believe that the 450 F Sport has the ML but not the pan roof, probably because of the extra weight of the AVS, so the F Sport Takumi won't have it either. But the 450 Takumi seems to now have both the ML and the pan roof.

I configured a 450 Takumi and the spec I saved shows both items, however the web site "brochure" says it doesn't have the pan roof. I'm going to speak to my friendly dealer person and ask them to confirm absolutely to me which is correct because it's a showstopper for me.

Watching this thread with interest. If I find out before you do, I will let you know.

Of course it is your decision but in my experience, having had an RX450 F Sport with the ML system for 4 years prior to our current NX450h F Sport, I wouldn’t let the lack of the ML system be a deal breaker. TBH I never rated the ML in the RX and I certainly find the standard system in the NX450 to be comparable to the ML in the RX.

The pano roof I agree with. It is something that we miss in the NX450 F Sport, the little sunroof is no substitute, but I went for the F Sport because I really wanted the adaptive suspension, which just shows that we all have individual preferences.

Indeed, it's subjective but I wouldn't want the car without the pan roof. The ML in my current 300h is just superb and I wouldn't want to risk not having the premium system in my next one. As for the AVS, I have it but barely ever use it. 🤷‍♂️
