If you're stuck for a mechanic to look at the car, if you widened the question, and asked if there was anyone who lived in Cardiff who could pop along and have a quick look at the car for you, I think you might be pleasantly surprised at the help you'll be offered.

Is there anyone living in Cardiff who could pop along and have a quick look at a Lexus LS 400 1994 that I am thinking of buying. Just need to know it is mechanically and relatively rust free particularly underneath.

I am looking at the MOT history and see underside corrosion as an advisory in 2020 but not mentioned in 2021?

Suggest the MOT Tester might have been overly sensitive seeing that brown surface stuff on a 30 years young car 

The rest of the later MOT Advisories look about right for such a car maybe

I'll be in Cardiff on Saturday morning if you still need a hand. I'm not a mechanic but have worked on my own cars a lot and I've taken my LS430 apart an embarrassing amount of times and they are very similar.
