Instrument cluster problem

Recommended Posts

I have a 2008 isf Japanese import which I have been informed do not have TPMS module but it has been fitted with an euro instrument cluster so the display is in english and mph. The problem is that it shows TPMS fault because of said missing module. I have contacted a few dash reprogramming shops but to no avail. I have had an independant Lexus dealer look and there are no fault codes and obviously no TPMs module shows on scanner.

Please help because I don't want to fit a Japanese cluster, thanks

And it’s a UK cluster you have fitted for MPH, not a US one? Handy if you can also put a picture of the light that you get when the headlights are on

Just checked and realised that my JDM does not have TPMS as nothing shows on startup. Be nice to have but at the same time irritating as even throws a light when 2 PSI below preset pressure.

Not missing it anyway 😂

But any “ on sale “ might be slightly compromised if a new purchaser feels same as you 🤔

Shame no-one’s found the answer ( yet ) as pre 2012, TPMS just isn’t necessary for the MOT

It doesn’t look like a US one. But also it’s not UK as far as I’m aware no UK ISF had TPMS. And if it did, it would have been on the later car with the large central rev counter. I think it’s a European LHD one so you won’t be able to get round that.

I was told by a dashboard programmer that some 2008's don't have TPMS but all the rest do in uk, so who knows. This is the problem buying a rare car and then getting an import on top of that that has to be altered but hey ho it's still a Beast.

That’s not true. I know someone with a 2013  ISF, one of the very last ones in the UK, no TPMS….

Sooo if I can find a 2nd hand UK one i'll be good? Not as though that's going to be easy but it's a start, thanks. Also that means mine must be a Euro one?

I wonder what hoops he has to jump thru at the MOT with 2012 being the cut-off year 🤔

Cut off year for what? There are no hoops to jump through. There is no TPMS from factory. Never failed an MOT and all done at main dealer. Mandatory TPMS was 2014 in the UK, before that was optional.

Will be hard unless a UK one is breaking.

FYI, I have upgraded mine to the later unit with the larger central rev counter with no issues, mileage was also coded correctly. Every function works and all notifications and warning lights work with no issue. Only thing that is not present is AFS, but as I have the DRL lights that dont have AFS, there is no menu or errors. Later cars with the DRL don’t have AFS.Even fully checked via Techstream post fitting by Lexus and all confirmed working in spec and correct.

Is your ISF a Japanese import or UK model because that is the problem.

Mine is a UK car.

The cluster you have tried to fit is not a UK cluster and more than likely a LHD European cluster. I would try and get it changed for a UK one of you can or your money back, it’s not worth the hassle.

I'm sure all European clusters are in Km/Hr

I assume euro/british but maybe US I really don't know. I think I'll have to contact previous owner.

I think maybe US because it says check engine, if it was euro it would say:

France: Check Le Engine

Italy: Checka Da Engino

Germany: CHECKZEN DAS ENGINFAUST
