First post!

I have had an LS600HL 2009 since February this year. As a car a dream to drive and own. However, it came with an aftermarket VLine2 wired device which became more and more problematic and eventually would not work. The Bluetooth would not connect and I could not get the latest software downloaded on to the device. In addition around the same time the car main dash screen failed, which I found, by investigating on this forum, happens without apparent cause or remedy but likely because of age. After replacing the dash screen, bought from eBay that was when the VLine2 unit stopped working and no matter what I tried it was to no avail. A new VLine unit is around £600!

Research began and I found a number of stand alone units mostly in the under £150 range. I chose an Eonon portable car stereo which does everything I want and more. It includes a front facing dash cam and the Bluetooth and is seamless and works every time. Wired from centre console 12v adaptor behind dash screen and attached to the windscreen. Plays music through the FM stereo, satnav and phone are all delivered from my mobile to the device. This is not an ad, as other similar devices are available, but my car now feels like a 2024 model not 2009. Cost £130. Hope this helps others in their choice of units.

This is the (UK) website link for the Eonon. There is a good video explaining the device on there

The first time I needed to remove the dash screen was pretty difficult for me with six different screws to remove. Two in the gear switch console, two in the sides of the radio and two in the back of the dash screen. I have not put them back and the clips are holding them solidly. Have run the power cable for the unit through the back of all of these from the centre console 12v plug and popped it out at the top of the dash screen. Looks really neat and reasonably well hidden. There is also a reversing camera included but I do not plan to fit it as the existing reverse screen works just fine.

Hope this helps
