Steering Column Lock Issue

Recommended Posts

We purchased the LBX in March due to Lexus reliability rating & having had a DS3 for previous 10 years & a Civic for 8 years before that without any issues. All was good for first few months then the steering column lock would not release which prevented car being started. AA attended & after a number of attempts to go through pre start procedure whilst turning the steering wheel between the stops it finally released. He said he had only come across issue once before on a Mini. It has happened a number of times since & Lexus can’t find any issues. I wondered if anyone has had a similar issue (I did note in the blog that someone had an issue with brake pedal programming which prevented starting of their Lexus).

Take it back to the dealer and insist it is fixed. A video of the problem may help if it doesn't occur all the time.

I'm surprised than on a new car the dealer just didn't give you a courtesy vehicle straight away.  There is always the fall back of a complaint to lexus customer service and they are excellent
