What exactly are you after? Is it just the glass or the entire mirror cowl? Have a look on eBay you might find a used one in the same colour as yours from a breaker. Else if its just the glass you are after look on eBay for used else try lexuspartsdirect.co.uk for a new one.

The metal casing has been cracked quite badly but it is still operating.I am not sure whether the metal casing can be bought an fitted or whether it can only come as an entire unit.

Do you mean the plastic housing? As i mentioned above. You can check on eBay for the same colour and model that you have as there may be differences depending on trim level. E.g higher variants came with auto dimming. Heres an example of a used one on eBay

If youn want to buy new you will need the exact part number and could look on amayama. It will come from Japan but will be cheaper than buying it from your local dealer. Also i am not sure if they come painted already.
