Useless Tech.

This could be fun, has anyone found any tech on the LBX to be totally useless.

I'll start by saying voice controlled windscreen wipers.

You say "Hey Lexus" Lexus replys "What can I do for you?", then you say "turn windscreen wipers on" Lexus replies "turning windshield wipers on" the wipers wipe once! It takes about 11 seconds

OR you move a finger about an inch & operate the wipers stalk. It takes nanoseconds.

Hah! Answers to questions nobody asked. Tech for Tech sake. How about electronic rear view mirrors, or for that matter, ALL voice control. One of the most bizarre was available on BMW s not sure if still the case. Its called gesture control. Instead of increasing the volume by simply twisting a knob you wave your hand in a circular movement.

Lexus voice control is abysmal and pathetic, but team voice control with Android Auto or apple CarPlay and it's heaven on Earth. It's especially good if, like mine, your car doesn't have a touch screen and you have to use that silly mousey joystick thing.

Me: "Hey Google - open Waze"
AA/ACP: "Opening Waze"
Me: "Hey Google - navigate to M33 4RX"
Waze: "Navigating to M33 4RX - OK, let's go"

No drama, no problems, works just as it's meant to, as does voice control with other apps than navigation.

…putting a couple of well known local destinations into the satnav of my 2023 UX courtesy car…only for it to tell me “…..destination not known…..”🤔🙄🙄🙄

Think yourselves lucky mine makes announcements in Japanese when I first start the engine.

The voice is done by a very sexy sounding Japanese woman and I assume she is complimenting me on my good youthful looks and choice of car. It is for those reasons I haven’t pulled her plug out.

So That's what The Queen Was Doing .She wasn't Waving to the Crowd She was telling Gerrad The Butler To Put The Royal Kettle on And Fire up The Log Burner To Warm her Slippers.. Now i know..!!!!
