A bit of a two-parter.

Found a tiny chip in a door going down to the metal.

Has anyone used touch-up paint / paint kit themselves and if so did it do a decent job / what paint was it?

Otherwise if you used a chipsaway type service, was it good?

It's a black 24 model. I think the colour is called Graphite Black.

thanks.

Get a touch up kit from Lexus parts direct, if you are not happy with the result you can always get it done professionally.

The touch up kits do tend to apply the paint in a blob, so I let that harden for a few weeks and then gently cut in with polish.

If the paint has chipped to the metal it means the chip is quite deep and while lexus original paints are great for colour match realistically it will only take your eye off it. Its not going to be like before. On close observation it will still be obvious that the car had a chip there. A professional service will do a better job of making it more invisible but it will come at a cost. All depends what you're happy with. Thing to note is when you go to sell the car a few years down the line stone chips are normal for used cars and sellers wont pay you more because you had them touched up.

As said in other comments, worth getting some touch up paint yourself and giving it a try. The paint normally comes with a small brush. Some chips are easier to paint/fill than others.

Good luck 😀

Thanks all. It seems there's no space in a supermarket distant enough to stop someone parking next to you 🙄
