Lexus rx 450h 2014 - issues

Recommended Posts

Good afternoon,

I have a rx450h 2014 - fully serviced by Lexus. Got a hybrid check in may - but after a heavy rainfall the car didn't start. So i called the AA and they towed it to Kings Lynn dealership.

3 weeks later i can never get through - and they still haven't had a look at the car. They are charging me over £750 just to look at the car.

I had issue with rats in my area - they ate some of the bonnet lining but not much - i have had my car serviced by Lexus twice during this period. I ended up moving area 6 months ago and they are now adamant my warranty won't cover looking at the car because of the pest and water. The water caused by rain - am i the only one who thinks this is really stupid?

The warranty doesn't cover diagnosing the problem (that's standard practice), but in my experience 1-hour labour is about the norm for diagnosis, so £750 seems ridiculous.  If the fault is found to be covered by warranty the diagnosis fee should then be waived (gets charged to Lexus as part of the repair cost).
