Brand new ux300e power boot won’t close

Recommended Posts

Hi,

Brand new ux300e owner. Just wondered if anything obvious I can check before going back to the dealer on Monday with it. The power boot works fine to open with all the options such as boot button, inside button and key. Will not close at all no matter what option you do. Just beeps once then nothing.

if you try the other button that I believe is the close and lock it beeps twice and even moving away quickly does nothing except make you look silly 😬

It also hasn’t been activated properly as says subscription not active and the app just errors when you try go to connected services in the app. I love technology…

Other than these little things the car is just fantastic to drive and so comfortable very happy with it. I wish it had ccs2 but I’m sure an updated model will come along with it soon enough.

Sounds like a trip back to the dealer. Things to check which you probably already have.

With the key in your pocket and no other keys in the car. Do the buttons on the inside of the boot lid work?

I think there are settings for how much to open, try setting this to max.

If it won’t close electrically, how do you close it. I don’t try to close manually as I think it will upset the motors and electronics.

I only use the app to set when to charge. The rest of the app is useless

Good luck in getting it sorted.

Hi,

i had to close it by hand against the motor wasn’t a fun task. Heading to dealer shortly see if anyone is free to take a look but suspect going to need an appointment. I requested help via the app got a reply quickly for the services issue saying to try it now but same issue. At least they are quick and polite.

still to try chademo charging it for first time but loving how refined it is.

Just to update this. Popped into dealer this morning as on my way past. Just wanted to double check I wasn’t being dense with the boot settings. He confirmed it’s not right so going back next week. Managed to get connected services sorted so that’s a plus.  Will give me a good idea on dealer aftercare I suppose.

So just to keep an update on this. Lexus have discovered the sensor as I suspected is faulty and needs replacement. Will be over a week on parts coming in as none In uk only somewhere in Europe.
