Have you checked the settings recently, maybe you have inadvertently disabled the function?

Hello Colin and welcome to the LOC.

You say this was a recent purchase, was it from a dealer or private seller?
If the former contact the dealer and ask them to take a look at it under your Consumer Rights.

Make sure you are pressing the release button for a good second. I was having intermittent issues only to find out I pressing long enough. Doesn't help with the kick release but just make sure you step back after the kick, otherwise the door won't open.

It sounds like your doing everything correctly so let the dealer sort it. Please let us know how it turns out.

Purchased my car from Toyota dealership they checked it over on Tuesday and said the near side strut was seized up and better to take it to a dealer for repair so as genuine parts fitted  fair play I thought  they tried to get me in my nearest Lexus dealership in nottingham they told me  l month before they could do it and £20 for a courtesy car I told that wasn’t satisfactory my Toyota dealership then phoned Sheffield Lexus it was booked in for Friday the same week  which I went yesterday the service was fabulous couldn’t fault it  within 1 hour new strut fitted and on my way . The lady in service they have changed a few of these and it’s allways the near side one that fails if that helps for the future all in all well done lexus Sheffield 👏👏👏

Steve look at my earlier post on a thread. I posted about the struts for rear hatch creaking really bad on my UX . I presented the issue at lexus Leeds when in for a service and there was no noise or creaking so they couldnt do anything. Thanks for this post looks like there may be an issue.

I remember on the first UX I had the creaking was associated with the air temperature, I think when it was very hot when it happened in my case. Are you having tropical temperatures up there in Yorkshire? 😆
