My fuel economy is bad

I have automatic is200 and my fuel economy is about 11.5-12L/100km. I drive mostly suburban/city. The book tells that it should be 14L but ive heard people mostly get 8-10l/100.

can i improve this somehow?
 

Ive changed oil and all the filters like 11months ago.

Drive everywhere like Miss Daisy...or get a car more suited to city driving, like a self-charging hybrid.  The city MPG figures depend on soooo many things...your driving style, how well your car has been maintained etc etc etc.....city driving will always bring out the worst in an ICE-engined car for sure.  In my last car I could actually see the fuel needle moving, in the wrong direction, as I drove around the city where I used to live....which is why I bought a UX...

12L/100Km = 23.5 MPG. Doesn't sound too abnormal for an auto.

The IS200 simply isn't a very fuel-efficent car, and an automatic one, is even worse.

I had a manual one and high 20s was about the typical MPG.
