I had mine fitted last month, it’s all working fine, but I agree they are a waste of time, but it was free. I am not sure you can do anything to stop the attempted theft of any car, so damage will always be done

Fitting an aftermarket alarm / immobiliser - warn away sounds as soon as the thieves attempt to gain access to carry out CAN invader theft then full alarm will sound if they continue. Immobiliser stops the vehicle being driven away.

The tracker is a waste of time. I had it fitted and like others, the codes / token etc provided don’t work.

Also, it’s not going to stop a thief ripping the bumper off. Lexus would be better off giving out crook (steering) locks!

Steering wheel locks dont work either, seen videos & pictures of plenty that haven't stopped the vehicle being taken.

Also if they cut the steering wheel it can be expensive to replace especially if it heated.

Unfortunately there is nothing you can do to stop them trying to steel it and causing damage to your car, the only thing you can do is make it less of a attraction, but the problem is there are not like the thieves of years back were all they wanted was a joy ride, its a business now and until something is done to make the business unattractive this will not stop.

The ultimate would be an aftermarket alarm with shock sensors mounted in the front arches plus a nice bright dash LED - I have looked into it and nobody seems interested in fitting as these cars have canbus so the old school Clifford type alarms could be difficult.

The reason why a lot of aftermarket security companies wont touch Toyota / Lexus hybrid vehicles isn't down to the CAN bus, its they just don't have a clue on how to fit an aftermarket security system to one without causing issues with the hybrid system.
