Just waiting for it to arrive

Recommended Posts

So after a years hard work and looking at cars I finally decided to get a ISF from Japan. I was on the auctions every day trying to find one in budget. And everyone went way over. So that LED me to looking at dealers in Japan and a bit of hunting.

Finally found one from a dealer that was known by the importers. So.....

It's a black 2008 isf with a few additions.

It's got Tein adjustable coilovers,

Front carbon lip,

Carbon steering wheel,

New headlights and tail lights

Orange brembo calipers

Facelift Speedo

Facelift radio surround

And rcf 84mm throttle body.

I'm really looking forward to getting it just in time for Christmas.

Welcome to the Club buddy. Everyone here is friendly and helpful.

Your car looks awesome - well polished and super clean.

If your infotainment surround has the smooth buttons rather than the raised round buttons, then the previous owner has up dated it somehow as its not a simple task. Swapping the top air vent to the later style is simple though. Love the carbon steering wheel. I've painted my callipers Orange too 😄. You also have the later style door window switches.

Hi Jeffrosie6,

So many things on this car tells me is actually not a 2008 but a 2011/2012. It could be Google translate not translated properly so I've actually got my fingers crossed.

Few more pictures see if you spot anything. I did noticed the steering wheel has the sport button and blue stitching so I'm hoping it's also go the LSD.

Like you said. Who ever had this car spent alot of time and money upgrading if it's not actually a 2011/12.

Does it have a USB slot under the centre arm rest? I was always told that was a good sign as that came with the LSD upgrade in 2010.

I would say it's 2010 or newer because it would be pretty pointless making some of those upgrades unless you somehow were super keen on it being a 2010.

You'll know when you get it I'm sure.

Check your VIN plate on the passenger side. If your axle id says A01B, then you have factory fitted Torsen LSD.

Looking at further pics of the interior of your car, its definitely 2010+ . Its also go the SPORT button on the steering wheel with the blue outline.

Aftermarket V-Land head & tail lights.

Also if you want your infotainment in English, unless you read Japanese, you'll need to change the unit. You could go for Android/Apple car play, but its a hit or miss as I found out with mine. I was Lucky to find for less than £200 a std unit and its plug & play.

I actually quite like the JDM-ness of it 😅. But I might wanna swap after a while. I'll see how I get on.

I did only realise after looking closely at the centre unit that it actually has a mini disk player.    Need to get me a couple of mini disks now for the drive home when collecting 😎

I've asked them for the vin number so I'll see what it comes back as. I was convinced it's a 2010 when I was searching and they just advertised it wrong. Half the reason I went for it was the hope it's not actually a 2008.

Lovely car but I could not resist showing off mine on a rare outing. It usually looks black but when the sun shines -   BTW the funny patchiness is just the photo when it was compressed to go on this site. The paint is flawless except for one or two stonechips on the front.
