Potential new purchase, what do you think?

I'm in Ajman looking for a 400 for my son and found this. I'd welcome feedback

They want the equivalent of nearly £6k but I will get that price down a bit.

Apparently it's a 2000, been resprayed and allegedly has a new engine with only 85k on it. It looks good and at idle seems perfect. 

Nakimici screen is on it's way out and theres a couple of cosmetics need sorting out, like a leather door panel replacement. The hood doesnt sit right cos theres a single LS 470(?) Strut in place but that's and easy fix. Wheels look different are they 2000 year only? I've not done a vin check yet or a test drive.

Stan hi,      Are all the seats effectively “ shrink wrapped “ too …….. for whatever reason ? 

Hope the cambelt waterpump etc was changed recently coz the concurrent post about this in a Ls430 puts that cost at @£4k alone these days  🥵

We understand one can spend enormous amounts on this ( and any ) car or indeed be rather astute and spend much less to effectively get a great car too ……….

They shrink wrap everything over here including TV remotes;0) I've got the service record it's good until 2018 when there was a drivers side accident. No idea how bad, but that made it an insurance write off. Age and mileage alone would justify the write off with any accident. I got this from a vehicle report that shows all other headings as green. Its sat around for 6 years before being sold at auction and shipped over here, where they repaired, resprayed and stuck a ne was engine in it. So seems like a gamble. Gonna test drive tomorrow and take it to a garage for a second opinion and see if chassis is bent up.
