A question for other LC500 owners re wind noise

Recommended Posts

One very happy owner of an LC500 Sport+ here but I have a question.  Has anyone else experienced any wind noise, especially a high pitched whistle from the drivers side and (I think) just behind my head around the window?  This starts with any speed above around 35mph.

I have checked, cleaned and carefully lubricated the door seals, which do not look damaged or mis formed in any way.  The window seals perfectly well and does not allow any water in and I can't see anything unusual about the trim along the top of the door or even the door itself.

Slightly opening the window while driving does not stop the whistle and further opening the window just drowns out the sound out.

Has anyone else experienced this and is there a know issue or a fix?

I have not experienced anything like you report. I note you have the Sport+. Could it be spoiler related?

I don't think so but I might try putting the wing up before I set off the next time and then it will be up at the lower speeds.  Good idea.

I have a sport plus and not had that issue. Check the seals where the windows meet the b pillar (if that’s what it’s called near the room line).

Also check the vents through to the tyre are clear of any debris.

Good luck finding it!

Yep having the exact same issue. Mine is non + model so not spoiler related. Whistle noise comes from both sides for me.

Could it possibly be the wing mirrors? Mine seemed to do it very occasionally, but not for sometime now. Maybe fold them in, if it's safe, and see if anything changes. Long shot but might be worth ruling them out.
