I now have 2 or 3 outstanding recalls. Not sure whether to be happy that Lexus is proactive with identifying and repairing potential problems or that the model is an accident waiting to happen. On a positive note, I have had 12 months of happy motoring, loved the Nx350h fsport but now thinking whether is time to move on.

Any new nx450h owners with nx350h experience who could advise any differences that is incentive to upgrade.

Not an exact upgrade but I got a NX 450H after I sold my 2023 UX250H. Main difference is the whole electric experience. It feels nice to have that 40-50 miles of range on pure electric range. Also, you will love the power difference specially on motorway.

But, to keep things in mind, habit of charging the car almost on daily basis can be challenging at first. You will have also invest in a wall charger (£800-£1000). Due to electric motor running very silently, you will tend to hear more road noise (topic for another day) compared to NX350H.

Suspension is slightly stiffer to compensate for 200kgs of Battery so ride quality might suffer (but nothing unbearable).

Overall, I am really enjoying my NX450H.

P.S. Changing the car is never driven by incentives in next car but its just a urge that pops up every 2 yrs😀

Thanks Pavan, much appreciated. My commute to work and beyond is close to the range of 40 miles a day, so definitely will require daily charging. However, the bulk of that is motorway driving where the increased power difference will be of value. I enjoy the Lexus effortless and controlled power cruise (not the mad dash around - you see in Audi and mercedes drivers - no offence meant). I don't mind the noise as my music drowns all that while cruising but ride quality is top on my agenda, so a mixed bag there.

Great to hear you are enjoying it and I might be tempted to book a test drive if they can let me have it for a full day😏.

Yes to the 2 year urge but it has to be something better or not worth it for another 2, if nothing goes wrong. Reliability for me is indispensable.

Test drive for a day would be really helpful. Unfortunately, I just had 15 mins of test drive and I was convinced that its a good car for me 🙂

Coming from BMW and Audi, I find the new info system bit frustrating but I guess you are already use to it from your NX350h.

Having done over 1000 miles in last 3 weeks, I am overall happy to with ride quality as well. Suspension is on harder side but without being jittery or harsh. Motorway driving is amazing 🙂

Best of luck

I charge mine via the 3 pin plug, takes 6 hrs and on Octopus Go costs less than £1.50.  I love my 450

Just called in at my local dealer to book the NX450h in for this latest recall.

Whilst going through the details on the computer the receptionist asks “would you like us to do a map update for the satnav whilst we have the car? Also the car is eligible for a free tracker to be fitted, would you like us to do this?”

I have to say that, unlike some dealership stories I read on here, Lexus Ipswich have been nothing but brilliant throughout the 7 years I have been dealing with them.
