Roof Painting

Hi all, anybody had this done recently. Mine is going in the usual places. It was done by Lexus 8 years ago under warranty but has re-appeared. The company that has done paint for me on other vehicles will not touch it. Can't do it without removing panels and not willing to attempt.

After my recent service at Lexus Leeds, I asked them for a price. It will start at 2k and no guarantee that it wouldn't go higher and wouldn't be happy warranting the work.

Tried and independent Lexus repair and they are not willing to get involved.

Any hope?

Maybe not as good as paint but have you looked into vinyl wrapping? I've seen some cars fully wrapped and it does look good when done well. You might be able to just have the roof covered in vinyl?

Seems we all have the same issue. But it is only cosmetic.

Not going to kill the car. Seems humidity is the main enemy.

We should move to California.

Out of interest do you  have any photos of your paint issues ? 
I have roof paint issues on my N reg Ls400 and I’d like to see if comparable and a manufacturing or maybe just an aged paint issue

Ah, aluminium corrosion then .......  just mushing away, flaky white underneath the paintwork, to dust probably in the fullness of time  .........  just like the old Rover 2000's past 🤔

Good luck with trying to resolve and stop the ageing process
