Looking at used RX 400H or 450H 3rd gen

Hi everyone,

 

I'm looking at picking up a used RX 400H (07 onwards) or a 450H (09 to maybe 12/13). 

 

I'm new to the forum and to the world of Lexus (as well as owning a car as I've previously only leased cars). I was wondering if there are any potential issues I should look out for in both models? Both will be circa +100k miles with the 400H probably costing about £1k-£1.5k less than the 450H so I'll have to see if my budget of £4.5k will stretch that far.

I can only comment on the 400h. Mine is an 06 and it's been the most reliable car I've ever owned and it's still in perfect working order. I was considering a newer model, but I've decided again to keep it and keep it going. It's just too good. The only downsides are the ancient ICE (I even have a cassette player), which I will have to upgrade at some point.; the sat nav (2015 maps I think I have); the poor reversing light illumination; the rubber seals that fail and cause leaks (I had mine all repaired a few years ago).

Im in need of new door seals for mine. Where did you get yours from? and were they genuine OEM or generic seals?
