I winter in Florida and do not plan to take my 2024 Lexus LC 500 Inspiration Series. It will sit in a climate controlled garage until next April. What is the best way to install a JMR trickle charger on my car? The Battery being in the trunk is a little different.

I have my LC500 on a trickle charger when I am not going to use it for more than a few days.

I connect via croc clips to the jump start point in the fuse box under the bonnet (+ve) and the engine block (-ve). I generally close the bonnet down onto a pillow resting on the engine so that the gas struts are compressed (their normal state).

This seems to work very well and I still have the original Battery fitted to the car.

The charger charges at 2.5A until the voltage reaches 14.7V holds it at that voltage until the current falls to 250mA and then switches to maintenance mode at 13.8V for the long term.

As I use the car very rarely in the winter months i.e. September to May😁 ( only when no salt or rain which equals hardly ever used ) my "expert" mechanic friend advised me to keep the car on trickle charge permanently. This has worked well. No problems. It usually starts the charge cycle at 14.4 ish volts and settles down to 12.7 in maintenance mode once it has reached full charge. It very occasionally does a light top up cycle and the charger usually feels cold in maintenance mode, which tells me it is working at a very low rate.   PS - Exactly the same for the motorbike.
