Hi Peter and welcome to the LOC.

I can’t offer any advice on what you are looking for apart from a good, preferably Lexus service history, a current hybrid health check and get one of those vehicle checks done on a possible purchase. I’m pretty sure other members will post up with more information and help.

Take your time, find the one you want and enjoy 😀

thank you ,i have seen one but its the other side of the country, and in a jaguar dealership ,not sure why someone would part x an f sport for an f pace ,but there you go ,salesman wasnt very helpfull .cardiff is my nearest dealership and the stock is low not much choice ,so i think its going to be a long haul

Check the rear brake discs for corrosion which is a sign the rear callipers are sticking due to lack of use you get with a hybrid and regen braking. Nothing else really with regards to the car itself.

It is likely to be vulnerable to theft through a CAN bus attack so make sure the Lexus dealer fits a tracker and geo-fence device. Check insurance quotes.

It is going to feel very slow compared to a Supra TT.

Those alloys look good. Is that a JDM Supra with a euro spec bonnet scope, or a UK vehicle with the headlight washers deleted?

yes import ,i fitted the scoop as i felt the bonnet a bit plain, the low spoiler is oem ,sweedish market thought the high one was dangerous so toyota made a low one ,gutted i sold it ,but parts were hard to find mainly usa ,and a nightmare to get over here ,alloys were perfect offset

prices are quite high on a 19 plate and if low miles sneaky dealers whack on a few more ks,but atm i can only find one which falls into my bracket ,and its as far away from where i live as it could be ,so even going to see it isnt an option and not a lexus dealer which concerns me

Lexus dealers will generally charge a bit more than the used examples at non-franchised showrooms. Paying that bit extra is in my opinion worth it as there is an element of peace of mind.

Good advice from Steve and Ken. You can get a reasonable warranty if you stick with the dealer for servicing.

hmmm the only one thats ticking the boxes atm is in a jaguar garage ,i have enquired but the salesman was hopeless, and as said its a long way from here ,cardiff has only later models so out of my price range atm

had a bit more feedback from the dealer ,he sent me a quick vid walk around ,and a more indepth one tomorrow, from the pics the car looked mint but in the vid theres quite a few bodywork issues nothing big just a few scuffs and scrapes, alloys are all corroded but he said he would get them done ,its had a health check and no issues, all green lights .so apart from a few cosmetic issues it all looks ok ,so do i go for it

Morning .found a few cars what would you say is most important year mileage condition

Found 69 plate 53k and in need of a lot of bodywork

Or an older  18 plate 51k and from the pics looks OK

So one is early 18 the other late 19

always appreciated

Difficult to comment without looking, could you post the links up for both of them?

As @steve2006 has commented, It's difficult to offer any guidance without knowing more about each of the 2 cars (price; spec; colour; F Sport or not?; etc.). However, based on the information you have provided and the fact that the 69 plate car needs a lot of bodywork (and assuming that all the other factors are equal, as listed above for example) I would choose the 18 plate, especially if it has had the mid-term mild face-lift that was introduced at around that time. Sure, it will have less time remaining on the warranty lifespan (if serviced annually by Lexus) but I would place more emphasis on the condition of the car than a slightly shorter warranty lifespan. There isn't a lot of difference between the stated mileage of both cars so in this particular case, based on the information you have provided, my priority would be "condition" over "year" (with the caveat that the 18 plate has had the face-lift).
