My car is NX450h+. When I use the pre-conditioning function during this chilly week . I found that the defrost function is not good. I set to defrost the windshield in my app. However I note that just the center area is work! It doesn't work on the bottom corners and far sides of the windshield.

What can I do to solve this problem ?? Thanks

How long do you set it for? Perhaps extending the set time would clear more of the screen?

Thanks for your reply.  I set it run over 10min before I go. 🙏

Is this misting on the inside of the screen? Set it to run twice as long and see how it goes.

Make sure there's nothing damp left in the car. Do you use the a/c continuously? This helps to dry the cabin air. I never switch the a/c off, just set to auto and the temp I want and let the car sort it out. Make sure the windscreen glass is really clean, a dirty/film on the inside will mist up more easily

I know the problem now. Thanks one NX owner told me that:

There is "bug" with the remote air conditioning. If you set a warm temperature, the system will automatically generate warm air only, without activating the compressor (A/C will remain off). The result is that the warm air blown inside the cabin will be humid (depending on the ambient humidity rate at that moment). When you are in the car and activate yourself the air conditioning, you can turn A/C on (or A/C is automatically turned on), and this will dry the air. This does not happen with the remote air conditioning... Regarding your problem, there is no real solution. Maybe try to slightly lower the temperature, and activate primarily the seats and steering wheel heating.

Slightly off-topic but does the heating use the 12v or the hybrid Battery when started on the app? I'm just wondering what it would do to the lifespan of the 12v Battery

On real cold and frosty mornings, can you start up the car on the engine to warm things up? Not via the app. I wonder if it'll power down as it's not moving.

Pre-conditionng will use the Traction Battery unless you also specify screen defrost/clear when it will start the ICE by default.

If you start the car manually then it will expect the key to remain inside the car so better to use the app.

I gave this a go today, key in car, engine started and in Park but the car shuts down and goes into EV mode. Don't know how you force it to remain in ICE

Pre-conditioning won't start engine. So the problem is that warm air blows against the glass.  But the compressor is not turned on, so it will not dehumidify.

Unlike you are driving you can turn on A/C.

I am looking to just warm up the car in the morning with engine running and then scraping the ice off.

I only thought of this now, maybe it's changing to EV mode because it's on ECO setting. I'll try again with another mode and see if the engine remains running.

The a/c compressor will not function if the ambient temperature is below approx 5c, no matter how one tries to turn it on.

Does the rear window defrost also do the wing mirrors from the app. It doesn’t in the UXe. But if you are in the car and switch the rear window on, it does the mirrors too.
