Anyone else having issues with the LBX mileage estimator? Mine is consistently MILES out. Example : today I checked the estimator for the 'next fuel required' before a journey of approx. 125 miles (mostly motorway). The gauage pre-journey said 165 miles to fuel required. But 15 miles from the end of my journey (i.e. after I'd driven about 110 miles) I got a message saying 'insufficient fuel for journey, fuel low'. This has happened on almost every long journey I have made (I've only had the car two months) and is REALLY ****** me off. What's the most economical setting for driving?  I get that the figure is variable depending on city/motorway driving but being 40 miles out seems bizarre. Any intelligence, as ever, appreciated.

And PLEASE, anyone know how to make that $*#@% 'nine bleeps' stop when I get out of the car? Happens even when I open the rear door to ensure no small children have been left behind!!!!! Also doing my head in!

I imagine the estimator will always err on the side of caution, better warn well before fuel needed than the 1 mile after!

Regarding the beeps, have you looked through the Customization functions in the handbook there are a number linked with the Smart entry & start system.

Kenny, totally on the same page as you with the 9 beeps!!!

Done the same as you done, opened both rear doors on stopping and then locking it still does its 9 beeps!!!! Not fun when you get home late and wake up your neighbours with this stupid feature.

I am also looking for the solution but have not found any. Appears the function to turn it off on the multi media unit as it is in the NX is not available on the LBX?? Also read some people have said it can be changed by the dealer but then have had other issues afterwards. Let's hope Lexus can sort it out.

Kenny, do you get a single warning beep when you switch the car off and a warning message appear on the dashboard? If so it should show in that message which button to hold to disable the nine beeps. On my car it’s the bottom section of the left hand ‘4 pointed’ button. Hope this helps.

Hi : thanks to all responders. I don't get any single beep when I switch the engine off. Just the annoying nine beeps, on a totally random basis. It is apparently common in American cars in case people leave kids in car seats (!) I'm going to ask my local Lexus dealer, if I get any joy - and my breath, it is not being held - I'll post on here.

As for the mileage estimator thing, I assume ECO is the most fuel-saving option?

Thanks again to all.

Morning, one of the responses does correctly note that the NX do have the ability to isolate and turn off the rear seat reminder (once done.. its done.. no need to repeat each time)

Whilst I;m not totally sure if the LBX is running the sale MultiMedia unit I'd be surprised if it wasn't.

Regardless.. it drove me nuts too, so this has got to be worth a try:

Home Screen/ Cog widget on left hand banner

Settings/Vehicle customise/Utility/Rear Seat Reminder/Select either on/off.

@AkioT The LBX does have the feature according to the manual, but it has to be first enabled by a dealer (also stated in the manual)

Like you, it was the first thing I turned off when I got my NX

I think I posted this in another thread as well, but according to page 565 of the LBX Manual it can be made available if first set up by a dealer as screen grabs below.

Thanks for that info, steppy. I asked the contact who delivered the car to me and she said she will raise it with my local dealership.

KENNY.. That would Annoy The Hell Out Of Me Bleeping Like that..And as for the Warning low fuel I Would Say The Cars Electronics MAKE  SURE You have Enough fuel in the Tank I.E ( reserve) To keep you Going...Its designed that Way to Ensure you never Completely Run Out of Fuel.. My Advice Regarding the Bleeps..Phone the Dealership And ask the Technician How you Kill This annoying Feature..Sorry i don,t have an LBX So Unable to advise you of the top of my Head i Have an NX Hope that Helps..Cheers..!!!

You're welcome, fingers crossed they can sort it for you.  I am sure there are other LBX drivers who will be interested to hear the result.

Hi Kenny, I’m not sure that this will ease your frustration or build upon it…. As my car is currently in for warranty I have been loaned an LBX with HUD. When switching off after a journey that involves opening the passenger door I got the single beep and the warning on the dashboard shown in my attachment. I pressed the OK button, locked the car and no beeps. So I repeated the exercise, didn’t press the OK button and then got the nine beeps when locking the car. In summary it appears that the LBX does enable the driver to disable the nine beeps (on each occasion rather than permanently), but that your car may not be configured correctly (?).

My experience is as follows:

1 . Lexus dealers in my area were not able to explain this behavior after 3 months from LBX buy date (sic).

2. Alarm installer said that their alarms did not emit any beeps.

3. Eventually I discovered when it happened: If you open and close also rear door before starting the car, then if after stopping and getting out of the car you not open and close rear door, you will hear the warning beeps closing the car. Alternatively, when you switch off the engine, you may see a warning and message diplayed that you may press and hold ok key to disable beeps this time only. (I do not have HUD so the message is displayed on the console)

Thanks to both posters. I had worked out that if you open and close the rear door after switching off it sometimes - though not always - stops the beeping. But this is 2024. Surely there has to be a method of getting rid of it altogether if that's what the driver of a 30k car wants to happen?  It's all a bit tiresome and anothe example of supposed 'improvements' that are simply annoying.
