I took on my LBX last Friday and didn't notice this until I got home. I'm not sure if this is a design issue or me not looking at the problem properly. I've had 5 Lexus models since 2008, the first being the IS250, followed by RX450, NX300, NX350 and now the LBX. When I used the wipers to clear bugs off the windscreen from the home journey, I noticed that the driver's side wiper put all the water down the right-hand side of the screen and not on the windscreen itself. I contacted the dealership and in all fairness to them they came to pick the car up from Dundee (I was also waiting for dash cams to be fitted so they did this at the same time). However, they checked my LBX against others and they were the same. So I ask if anyone else has noticed this and if so, is it a design issue.

If it's anything like the new RX the washer fluid comes out of the wiper arms rather than the bonnet and sprays near the wipers rather than the windscreen

Hi Rayann, Thanks for the reply. Yes, it's exactly that, though I'm not sure whether I like it as a design. When I used it for the first time it didn't seem to clear the marks on the screen, just pushed the water off to the side

It works the same as the old system in terms of effectiveness. It'll probably be the wipers or something applied to the screen

Perfect System----Just use decent Screen Wash.

Hi Tel, thanks for that, just to try and show everyone what I mean I've put a short video on which I hope you can see. When I picked the car up the reservoir had just water in it, which may be part of the issue. It's the passenger side wash which seems to be the side that could effectively remove the bug splat

I assume you have cleaned your windscreen before you tested your screen wash & cleaned your wiper blades ?

Hi Tel, Yep, I suppose as it is a new car, and they use a form of wax that can be hard to remove, I suppose there could still be residual on the blade edge. I'll clean them again and get back to you. Thanks for the tips

Not very effective , still there.

Are you talking about those (what appears to be) white spots ?, if so as has been said you need to manually clean your windscreen & blades as even the best (Prestone) washer fluid can only do so much.

An old micro cloth made into a pad with some meths on it will clean it like new & in the mountains many years ago I would add a tidy amount of Meths to the washer bottle to stop any freezing but that was in an HGV not my nice shiny Lexus.

Now I just use minus 20+ Prestone washer additive

Hi Brian, yes Tel in Derby suggested the same, which I have. Although not an HGV Tiger, I've been driving since 1975 (I'm 70 yo now, originally from Warrington, now living in Aberdeenshire) but I used to be a service engineer travelling, driving all over the UK. The white marks were the bug splat. My initial 'suggestion' was the design was probably 'disappointing'... anyway, winter is coming.... I'll keep everyone posted  👍
