If all is simular to my kit.. Just need to change the bulb in the lamp... new bulb plugs into the new balast, new balast plugs into the oem bulb plug and wires via a fused relay harness which just connects to your Battery...

Hey Dave, would pictures of installing my kit help ya here...?

Dave

I can be nice if you want B)

But just for LOC and all us prospective buyers of this wonderfull kit,(fingers crossed) i will be giving an honest review.

How long do you want me to have them on test ?

This means i'll have to go out at night :D

Can I suggest that, if possible, you only change one headlight first, and take a load of pictures to show the difference?

Ideally, with the standard Lexus bulbs fitted

Yep i will do all of that Matt plus a full fitting with pics with installation time needed and identifying which wires go where for those that are going to buy the kit.

Unless you want a video clip..:lol:

You're talking electrickery again with wich i have absolutely no knowledge about.

Is it feet and inches :P

dont worry , you can borrow it for a few shillings :P

It's not just the brightness but the colour of the light. So impressed with my lights - looks like daylight. Shame Lexus don't fit HIDs to the main beam as well.

OK quick question after reading Colin's post there - does this kit replace just dipped beam or dipped and main beams? TIA

Posted

HID's normally just replace the dip beams ( The lights you use at night )

If this kit is simular to mine, its an easy changeover...This is what I had to do.

Unplug harness to oem bulb

remove oem bulb

inset new HID lightbulb ( has a harness attached to it )

mount the ballast in a dry location

connect the new bulb wire harness to ballast ( simple plug in connection )

plug the ballast into the provided relay assembly

plug the oem light loom into the provided relay assembly

route the power and GND to the car Battery

repeat for the other side

Hey presto.. HID within an hour done very neatly....

Just to add also...

I was at the Leicester meet a good few months back, when Zee delivered most of his X-whites bulb group buy...

At the time, the camparison against those and oem bulbs had a vast difference...

Then my HID against the X-whites... yet another noticeable difference ... Bear in mind also that the x-white bulbs offered by Zee ARE the closest you'll get to HID without going the HID route... You can trust me on that !

Thanks Steve - would it be practical to add 2 HID kits - one for main beam and one for dipped or is there not much point to that?

Mind you saying that with the HID's that would drastically reduce the need for main beam anyway wouldn't it?

Only bit that worries me really about the install is the power bit, I'm crap when it comes to that. I'd end up giving myself a shock :o

As for Zee's bulbs they're great but I can't understand why more didn't go for the group buy since there had been so much interest :duh:

Dropped out so I could buy these though.

Pointless really...

This is what I really recommend...

HID for dip beams...

Zee's X-whites for main beam ( smaller lights of the 2 on headlight )

White LED side light bulb..

Looks like I might be busy at JAE... Can help you fit there if others don't mind.

That sounds great Steve, I'd sort you out with something, would be buying the butties in all weekend :P

Do you think this will be arranged before JAE Dave?

Sounds like I just need to sort out the side lights then I'm away!
