The MIL error and the VSC error are linked and normally caused by a failed/failing O2 sensor in the exhaust.
I don't know why Lexus decided to disable the VSC because of an emissions fault, but they did.
Since they were fixed you can safely ignore those.

The cambelt change at 77k was 10 years ago, so is due for a change soon (90k miles or 10 years).
That said £3500 is a good price. Most on Ebay/Autotrader are going for more than that with similar mileage.

They didn’t all have wood steering wheels, mine albeit a Celsior had a standard one originally I seem to remember being told by Phil and he replaced it with the wood one.

According to the mileage the car didn’t move between the last MOT fail and then the pass a couple of weeks later which would suggest it was left at the garage and repaired by them.

Given the advisories for brake pads and tyres I can’t see them still being on the car so more likely replaced.

What’s the service history particularly regarding the cam belt?
From what I can see in the pictures it looks to be in nice condition.

Price seems fair for condition and mileage but always worth haggling for a tank of fuel discount 😀

So I went ahead and purchased the car. The previous owner had it for a year and a half and performed some maintenance. 3 previous owners.

The book only had 1 Lexus stamp. However, after having registered the car on 'My Lexus' portal, I found that it has Lexus service history till 98k. So that's cool.

Cam belt was done at 77k.

Unfortunately, the tilt motor and the reverse camera don't work.

Was wondering if there is a DIY fix for this.

Corrosion kills the reversing cameras after about 20 years or so. If you just get a black screen when selecting reverse, chances are the camera needs to be replaced, as Mark pointed out.

New tilt motors can be had from eBay either new or used. However, if you don't use the auto-tilt-away function you can set the position manually and just leave it there.
Setting the position requires removing the lower cover from the steering column and adjusting the tilt shaft manually with a spanner on the end of the shaft.
You can enable/disable the auto-tilt-away and many other functions in Techstream which is Toyota/Lexus own ODB2 and car management software.

Great! Didn't know I could move the steering manually. Actually, I don't use it so fixing in a comfortable position and leaving it there would be better for me.

The camera at £80 seems quite expensive.

Am I able to install an aftermarket one in place of the original one without cutting wires etc.?

I think £89.99 for a used camera, assuming it's good and working, is a bargain 🤣
Compared to a Lexus genuine new one which is £999.37 from Lexus Parts Direct.......yes £999.37 😬 and around £400 plus other costs from Amayama in Japan.

Actually you do have a point. I've managed to source one for £60. Will be getting it.

Some idiot nicked my antenna. Now I'll have to hunt for an antenna.

If you mean the little one on the roof, it's useless (Lexus Link, no longer operating) so you can buy any cheap screw in antenna and fit that. Either that or else find a blanking plug that fills the hole. I am tempted to buy one of these and just stick it on

The radio antenna is built into the rear screen heater.

Sounds like a good purchase, did you haggle the price or was the tank already full? 😀

Bonus with the service history BTW.

The best prices I can find for the tilt motor are on the pictures below.

I'm thinking of manually adjusting the steering position to suit my driving. I may purchase the motor when something comes up within my budget.

I managed to source a brand new OEM reverse camera for around £40 all in from the States. A friend of mine was coming over from Floria so I got him to bring it over. You can get great deals on eBay USA.

After haggling I managed to get it for a bargain. £2800.
