auxiliary battery

Hello,

        I bought a Lexus RX300 Year 2004 in March this year. In September we went on holiday and whilst there the starter Battery completely died . We managed to get the car to the Lexus garage in Lorient who told me that the auxiliary Battery needed replacing. They could not fit a new one as it had to be ordered. We managed to get the car back home and have been trying to find a replacement without success. Can someone tell me where this Battery is located on the car and where I can buy a replacement?

Battery is in the engine bay.

You can get one from Halford, Eurocarparts etc. or from a Lexus dealer:

Auxiliary Battery, presumably so called to differentiate from hybrid one…? So it’s really just a car Battery from anywhere that does car batteries I presume…?

Yes. It really doesn't make much sense to call it an aux Battery for a non-hybrid vehicle - it's just the standard 12v Battery.

I was told by the Lexus garage in Lorient France that the car has 2 batteries, the main one in the front and a second one somewhere in the boot. I cannot find it anywhere.

Having had a 2005 RX300 I can say with confidence that there's only one Battery, that being the one I've arrowed above. The hybrid 450h has two, a 12V 'auxilliary or starter' Battery and the high voltage traction Battery.
