Hi Mellow Fembers,

Smeecagain….flying a kite as usual. Depending what our new arse of a government does to fuel prices, my 2018 450h could become a keeper, or even my last car, whichever comes first or last….LOL. I have witnessed and am therefore a big fan of professionally done rust proofing in my case Dinitrol. The amount of salt on Scottish roads would make yer tie squeak.
Simple question………is it a bit ott on a Lexus or has anybody gone down this road before…? I am aware of its non cheapness, but it looks superbly sealed when doned properly.

Echoing your sentiments exactly Kev..

If the decision is to keep long term I would definitely consider the underseal, well worth the investment I reckon👍

This is the only point to date on which I disagree with my garage. It is a disagreement rooted in science, or so I believe rightly, or wrongly.

The garage view is if it isn't sealed from new you are wasting your money. My view is corrosion is scientifically known to be an interation of moisture with acidic chemicals and their interation with iron based metals. Steel.

Whilst corrosion may already be present in my view if you can seal that to actively prevent any further chemical interaction then you also prevent any further corrosion that might lead surface rust to become  something that is structural.

Tend to concurify entirely, Stephen, and to my utter astonishment have found a Land Rover specialist within a very short distance of me (major miracle) who specialises in Dinitrol treatment of LR cars. He gave me an off the cuff price to do my 450h which ruined my only pair of underpants………..1000GBP FGS..!!

Ouch! I would say do it yourself with Lanoguard. I’m in the process of using that on my SportCross and my other car.
