Why is there no Executive Trim on the archived brochure?

Recommended Posts

Hi!,

I'm currently in the market for an IS 300H and so I endeavored to find the 2014 (model year I'm aiming for) brochure for that specific car to look at the trim specs / add ons.

I'm looking at two units around the same price, one is an SE the other is an Executive trim, so I'm trying to compare those two. The info I found though only shows SE | Luxury | F-Sport | Premier, anybody know where the Executive fits there, and what comes with it?

BTW here's the link to the full brochure https://autocatalogarchive.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/02/Lexus-IS-2014-UK.pdf

I think from memory the Executive comes between Luxury and Premier. It has leather heated seats, sat nav and 17 inch wheels. Standard radio. No reversing camera. There is also an Advance that is similar to executive but has heated and cooled leather seats. Reversing camera and sat nav. The SE does not have split rear seats.

Check some specs on auto trader.

That link leads to a great resource!

Unfortunately, the link you've put up leads to a June 2013 brochure, that won't show all the versions available for 2014 - and it doesn't show the car you're interested in.

This is an October 2015 catalog that does show the specifications  (for that model year) and includes the Executive.

Unfortunately the specs in those brochures are also quite limited on the details of what features are on each trim level. For example the Executive has front and rear parking sensors but some of the other grades (what look like higher grades) didn't have both front and rear. There were also other options available for different trim levels not shown but not all options were available for all levels! It's really difficult trying to identity what features a car might have based on what was in the brochures of the time. Only way to know for sure for any particular car is to actually see it and don't rely on what it says the trim level is on eg an ad.

I agree it was confusing AF when I was buying my 2014 exec a few years ago. Ended up missing out on some features i really wanted e.g the external mirrors dont auto dim but the inside one does but the car comes with privacy darkened glass so theres no point in having dimming rear view mirrors inside as everything looks dimmed anyway. Outside is where i needed it.

Yeah I understand that, I will be looking at both soon cause they're from the same used dealer anyway, one trip 2 vehicles I can view.
